Not all storage in Sebastian is created equal, especially when you're trusting a facility with an RV, boat, or work truck that represents real money and something you genuinely rely on. About Storage offers the largest outdoor parking facility in Indian River County, and knowing what to actually look for helps you evaluate whether any storage option, here or elsewhere, is genuinely secure.
What Makes RV, Boat, and Vehicle Storage Genuinely Secure
Start with access control. About Storage uses controlled gate access with a personalized entrance code, along with separate entrance and exit gates, so vehicles aren't crossing paths trying to use the same single lane. Infrared HD security cameras provide continuous surveillance day and night, backed by outdoor lighting throughout the property and brightly lit interiors for indoor units.
One detail that goes beyond typical storage security: the perimeter road at About Storage is monitored by the Sebastian Police Department, an added layer most facilities simply don't have. Wide, 35-foot one-way driveways also matter more than people expect, since they mean you're never blocked in trying to maneuver a larger RV or boat trailer through a tight lot.
Climate-Controlled vs. Non-Climate Storage for Vehicles and Gear
For anything you're storing alongside a vehicle, gear, tools, or equipment sensitive to Florida's humidity, climate-controlled insulated units specifically protect against mold and mildew, a real concern in this part of the state where humidity rarely lets up for long. Non-climate-controlled insulated units are also available for sturdier items that don't need that extra layer of protection, giving renters a genuine choice depending on what they're storing.
All units sit on ground level with 10-foot ceilings and no slopes, making it easier to load taller items without working around an awkward roofline that eats into usable space.
Why Location Matters for RV, Boat, and Vehicle Storage
About Storage sits directly across from the boat launch at Dale Wimbrow Park, meaning you can be on the water within minutes of pulling your boat out of storage. That kind of proximity is genuinely rare, and it's worth prioritizing when comparing storage options if you're a regular boater rather than someone storing a boat you rarely use.
As the largest outdoor parking facility in Indian River County, About Storage also gives RV, boat, and truck owners real choice in space rather than competing for a handful of spots at a smaller lot with limited availability.
Terms and Pricing Worth Understanding
Rentals run month-to-month with no annual contract required, and no deposit is needed to get started. A discount is available for anyone who prepays annually, including one month free with a prepaid annual contract, worth asking about directly if you're planning to store long-term.
The facility also includes monthly pest control, units cleaned and sprayed before new renters move in, and an on-site dumpster for tenant use, small details that add up over the course of a longer rental and make day-to-day upkeep less of a hassle.
What to Prioritize When Choosing Storage in Sebastian
Whether you're comparing About Storage against another facility or simply deciding what matters most, prioritize controlled access, real camera coverage, adequate lighting, and a location that doesn't add unnecessary driving time to actually using your RV, boat, or vehicle.
Choosing Secure Storage in Sebastian
Genuinely secure RV, boat, and vehicle storage comes down to access control, real monitoring, and a location that works with your actual routine, not just a fence and a gate that look secure on paper but don't hold up under closer inspection.
About Storage, located at 25 Airport Dr. West in Sebastian, FL, offers the RV storage, boat storage, and vehicle storage that Indian River County residents count on.
